About Kimberly
Kim – ber – ley
Noun
1. A sweet compassionate girl that finds the beauty in everything.
2. She is always willing to give a helping hand.
3. Everyone loves her as soon as they meet her.
4. Tends to be very sexy and confident.
Anyhow, I got the above definition from Urban Dictionary. I would have to agree with 1-3 and not so much of 4. Close friends and family call me ‘Kimmie’. People first reaction when they first meet me is ‘oh wow she’s a snob’, but once they get to know me I’m the sweetest person ever… well, I can be mean :)
About Richard
Richard (Lin) the Tenth, is the direct descendant of kings and ninjas, tracing his roots all the way to Richard the Lionhearted in the 12th century. Trained at an early age in the Shao Lin monastery on Mount Song, exposed to intense mental and physical training, with an unending quest to hone his mind and body into an instrument of divine justice.
Okay, I may be going too far with this, just because the section was named "About Richard", and my mind automatically gravitated to medieval kings and crusades. I go by simply "Ricky", a 5' 8" more or less non-descript male, probably best described as a bit awkward but semi-charasmatic.
So, how did an slightly awkward, dorky guy like me get a beautiful fiancee like Kimmie? I'm still trying to figure that one out, but I guess I can start on how we met.
How we met
From Ricky's memory (which is getting more faulty by the year): The first time I saw Kimmie was at a friend's Halloween party where she was wearing a somewhat risque nurse outfit (totally unrealistic, everyone would be trying to get sick if nurses really looked like that). I didn't actually get a chance, or nerve, to talk to her then, but I remembered the nurse Kimmie image vividly. A few months later, we got the chance to meet at a friend's kid's birthday party (you know, one of those kid's birthday parties that somehow now seem to dominate all get togethers). We chatted a bit, hit it off, I suavely asked her out, she said no. Ah, story of my life. But, I must have struck out with class, because she e-mailed me, we went on our first date a week or two later close to Christmas, and the rest is history (though sometimes history has its bloody moments). But I began that next New Year's with my soul mate for life.
From Kimmie's memory: The first time I saw Ricky was at a friend's Halloween party where he was dressing as himself, very down to earth type a guy. He had these two giant holes on his jeans and I thought to myself... goodness this dude is so out of style. The reason why he didn't have the chance to talk to me was because he was dating someone else at the time! Few months went by we met again at a friend's kid's party. The first thing that came out of his mouth was 'Hey, you're the sl*** nurse'. Anyhow we chatted for about 20 mins or so and he kindly asked me if I played tennis and I said no and then asked if I wanted to learn how to play and I said no and then he asked me if I wanted to be the ball girl and I said no. That's when he made an excuse that he had to leave. So, I guess that's how he would normally ask a girl out? A couple a days went by I thought about how dorky and funny this guy was so I friended him on Facebook and a few minutes later I got a FB message from him. He asked if I wanted to have dinner and I said yes :). Yup, I fell for Ricky because he's such a dorky, funny and the sweetest man I ever met!
